Nick Hewer has revealed plans for Countdown filming to 'hopefully' resume in June as he gives an update on the game show amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The host, 76, joked that 'nothing will stop Countdown' during an appearance from home on Good Morning Britain via video link on Tuesday.
Nick admitted that he has 'happy' to go back to the studio, however he noted that he will be cautious and keep his distance from others when doing so.

He said: 'I'll go back happily, but very cautiously! I'll keep my distance. Nothing will stop Countdown, it's been running since 1982.'
Nick added: 'Hopefully we'll be up and running again in June.'
Discussing his anxieties, Nick said: 'I'm 76, I am slightly anxious about it, but the over 70s have seen it all and we are responsible people.

'I think when the lockdown eases you can trust us to be responsible. The NHS has delivered so wonderfully, the government we're slow off the mark but now everything is coming together.
Nick also praised the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and said: 'I think Rishi Sunak has been extraordinary, that's a Prime Minister in the making!'
In the early stages of the crisis, it was reported that the Channel 4 show would continue filming during the coronavirus crisis, but without a studio audience.

According to a report from The Sun the popular teatime show has plans to continue shooting episodes but will take precautions by not having a studio audience, for the first time in its 38 year history.  
A source has told The Sun: 'Countdown bosses said they couldn't run the risk of having an audience so for the first time, filming will go ahead in an empty studio.
'They believe it is still safe to continue filming the pool of contestants they are working with but it's likely their schedule will slow in the coming months.' 
A representative for Channel 4 told MailOnline: 'Acting on PHE advice Countdown was filmed without an audience earlier this week'.
However as the pandemic progressed and lockdown was announced, Channel 4 have wrapped on filming until it is safe to resume.
