Horror moment man drives into Black Lives Matter rally before 'shooting protester'

Terrifying footage has emerged of a man seemingly attempting to plough his car into a crowd of protesting the death of George Floyd before appearing to shoot one demonstrator.

The video taken from an eyewitness looking at the street from a nearby building shows the car hurtling towards the crowd in Seattle, Washington state, yesterday.
He comes to a stop before running into anyone and dozens of protesters then swarm his vehicle.
A gunshot is then heard and one of the demonstrators who is seen trying to reach the driver through the window falls back into the street, apparently shot. Other protesters quickly rush to his aid.

The sound sends the crowd running in terror before the suspect gets out of his car brandishing what appears to be a weapon.
Seattle Police confirmed a driver had ploughed into the crowd and shot a protester at around 8.30pm. They have since retrieved his gun.
He then walks off and leaves his car in the middle of the street.
“Oh my God, he’s got a gun,” the man behind the camera can be heard saying.
The victim, named as 27-year-old Daniel, said he knew the alleged gunman.

“I caught him and I punched him in the face,” he said.
“I heard the gunshot go off in my arm. My whole thing was to protect those people down there.”
The Seattle Fire Department took the man who was shot to the hospital where he remained in stable condition. No one else was injured.
According to the Seattle Fire Department, the man was taken into custody near the 11th Avenue and Pine Street.

It is not clear if the suspect has been charged.The incident comes as thousands continued to take to the streets across the globe in protest at the death of African-American George Floyd in police custody at the end of May.
While the vast majority of demonstrations have been peaceful, a minority has seen violence and clashes with police as well as businesses being looted.
