DHS, protesters face off near ICE building in SW Portland

Protesters faced off with DHS officers near the ICE building in Southwest Portland on Saturday night.

The group of protesters, which first gathered at Willamette Park in the early evening, later marched to the ICE building and remained in the area around Moody Street.

Video from the scene captured the moments where DHS officers used crowd control munitions on protesters gathered at the entrance of the building.

At around 10 p.m., KATU News crews reported more than 100 people in the area, chanting in front of the building. Crews later reported that officers had come out of the building and faced off with protesters in the streets.

Portland Police officers were also present at the gathering and they have also issued warnings for the crowd to stay out of the street.

"The Federal Protective Service (FPS) is returning to the Immigration Customs Enforcement building. Move away from FPS officers, off the roadway and onto nearby sidewalks," Portland Police tweeted.
