VIDEO: Sen. Kyrsten Sinema accosted by leftist activists at ASU who confront her in the bathroom

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) was harassed by a small group of leftist activists at Arizona State University on Sunday. Video shows the Democratic senator from Arizona being accosted by left-wing activists at Arizona State University, including following Sinema into the bathroom to scold her on how she should vote for a controversial spending bill.

Original video of the confrontation was uploaded onto social media by the official Twitter account of LUCHA — Living United for Change in Arizona, a self-described "organization led by changemakers fighting for social, racial, and economic transformation" and "committed to human dignity, inclusion, equity, and collective growth."

LUCHA claimed that an "Arizona immigrant youth" confronted Sinema at a classroom in ASU, where the senator is a lecturer and where she received her doctorate.

A male voice is heard on the video telling Sinema, "Right now is a real moment that our people need in order for us to be able to talk about what's really happening. We need a 'Build Back Better' plan right now." The man is referring to the $3.5 trillion spending bill that Democratic leadership is attempting to push through Congress.

However, the activists accosted Sinema in the classroom and continued to follow the senator into the bathroom. Even after Sinema went into the bathroom stall, the progressive protesters continued to reprimand the U.S. lawmaker.

"We need solutions, the 'Build Back Better' plan has the solutions that we need," a female said right in front of the bathroom stall Sinema had entered.

A woman named "Blanca" challenged Sinema, "We knocked on doors for you to get you elected. And, just how we got you elected, we can get you out of office if you don't support what you promised us."

"I was brought to the United States when I was three years old. In 2010 both my grandparents got deported because of SB1070. My grandfather passed away two weeks ago and I wasn't able to go to Mexico because there is no pathway to citizenship," the woman said.

"And if we have the opportunity to pass it right now, then we need to do it because there's millions of undocumented people," she continued. "We need to hold you accountable to what you promised us that you were going to pass when we knocked on doors for you. It's not right."

The leftist activists are seen using their cell phones to record videos of them confronting Sinema in the bathroom.

According to Arizona law:

A. It is unlawful for any person to knowingly photograph, videotape, film, digitally record or by any other means secretly view, with or without a device, another person without that person's consent under either of the following circumstances:
1. In a restroom, bathroom, locker room, bedroom or other location where the person has a reasonable expectation of privacy and the person is urinating, defecating, dressing, undressing, nude or involved in sexual intercourse or sexual contact.

Sinema and Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia have been harassed by activists because they both are against the price of the $3.5 trillion spending bill, and Democrats need their votes. Last week, left-wing activists used kayaks to get close enough to yell at Manchin, who was on his houseboat.

On Saturday, Sinema blasted House Democrats for canceling a vote on the bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure package that she helped negotiated with Republicans.

"The failure of the U.S. House to hold a vote on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is inexcusable, and deeply disappointing for communities across our country," Sinema proclaimed. "Denying Americans millions of good-paying jobs, safer roads, cleaner water, more reliable electricity, and better broadband only hurts everyday families."

"Arizonans, and all everyday Americans, expect their lawmakers to consider legislation on the merits — rather than obstruct new jobs and critical infrastructure investments for no substantive reason," Sinema said. "What Americans have seen instead is an ineffective stunt to gain leverage over a separate proposal."
